Blossom I International Floral Art Competition

Susan K. Black, namesake of SKB, was a prolific painter of both floral and wildlife art. While many art competitions and exhibitions exist for wildlife art, there were none for contemporary floral art. With the help of Dr. David Wagner the foundation established Blossom.

Almost 1750 entries from 970 artists of 14 countries were submitted to Blossom from which 62 works were selected for exhibition. The exhibition premiered at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in 2007. Subsequently fifty five of those paintings toured nationally to six museums.
